Regarding True Fallacy Releases

My first two records, Servile and Subservient are only going to be available for a short time. They were very much an experiment in recording and writing, and in no way represent what True Fallacy is right now or the direction it's headed. I've only kept them there for this long because a few of our older fans enjoyed it. They will be deleted from the server on New Years Day, signaling the start of a new era in True Fallacy music. They are available here.

Next, some of our other free releases will be only be free for a short time from now, so get it while you can. Starting on New Years Day the material will be available for $1 to pay for bandwidth. Of course, they will always be available to listen to and share for free.

Recording has commenced on the new True Fallacy record, and it is more of a collaborative effort this time around. News as it develops, stay tuned here and on our networks for info and teasers as we record.

As always, thanks for listening. I can't wait for you to hear what we have brewing. It's going to blow your fucking mind.

I want to take a second to thank INK DOT BOY for having us out on the road with them this last week. It was an extreme honor and privilege.

I also want to say that the people who came out to the shows were incredible, and thank you for the massive support. We will be putting some serious stuff together in the coming months in terms of music, shows and merch, so stay tuned.

We shot some video throughout the last couple of days, and a highlight was at the Super Happy Fun Land in Houston. That video can be viewed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmUitJwQAjU.

The home page will still be our base of operations, but we also have Facebook, Twitter and Myspace pages that are updated pretty frequently.

We still have our digital music store here, and plan to incorporate some physical stuff there as well.

We are booking more shows in the spring, and could potentially play a show at the Lakewood Screening of the NIN: This One Is On Us - Gift Release. Rehearsing like crazy, and writing new material when we can.

Of course, this is also still available from my official digital store here. The upside to buying it from me is that you get to choose what file format you want, from Mp3 to FLAC Lossless, it's cheaper ($5 instead of $10), and you get two additional b-sides that aren't available on the retail release.

We will be playing a show at the Absinthe Lounge in Dallas on the 31st. We will have 3 hours to play, with breaks in between each hour, so the set will be very relaxed - a combination of how are you human stuff, as well as drones. I thought about throwing a song from servile on there, who knows.

As the new year approaches, so do exciting times in the Fallacy camp. New shows are being planned for early in the year; we're trying to book as many as possible and if you are a club or venue and would like to check our schedule, email booking at fallacy00@yahoo.com.

The latest release from True Fallacy, how are you human?, will be released on iTunes and all the other major mp3 distributors in the very near future. Stay tuned for some major updates to the site here as this is finalized. It will still always be available directly from me at the Digital Store, but in an effort to open myself up to the potentially larger audiences of iTunes music consumers, I am making the music available there as well.

New and old material is being rehearsed by my live band, and we are sounding amazing. New music is being worked on that sounds nothing like what we've released thus far.

First off, major congrats to all the crew at 'This One is On Us'. The trailer looks amazing, and many of us cannot wait for the film to see release!!

Second, I would like to mention that I approached the powers at TOIOU about what the music was going to be like for the credit and menu sequences, as I really enjoyed the 'And All That Could Have Been' menu sequence. I created and submitted a total of 23 drones to the powers, and they used number 21.

Most of you know of 20; the other 3 will be released as a free digital download on Christmas Day to coincide with the release of TOIOU's Gift Film - Check my store at midnight on Christmas Day for it, and enjoy.

Change of Plans. You will find that all of my download links have been taken off the site here, and the reason is because I now have a new digital download store for my music. This includes the Free music, and the recently released 'how are you human?' album.

The system is set up for me to set the minimum pricing for each song and album, and it allows the listener/customer decide what they want to pay for the music.
So I set the minimum price to $0 for the free music. One could pay for it if they like it enough to support it, but its not required and was not intended to be payed for, it was intended to be free.

The 'how are you human?' album is set to a $5.00 price tag, or $0.50 cents per song for the 10 songs (w/ the 2 hidden bonus tracks). The customer has the option of paying whatever they want, set at a minimum purchase of $5.

My advise to you is to, obviously, buy it from me. I am including the 2 extra tracks as a token of good faith, and apology for the hassle.

This One is on Me!!

I was recently contacted by Carrie over at This One is On Us, the NIN Fan Site who is currently creating a DVD of all the 'gift' footage given away last winter. She was wondering if I was still interested in creating sounds for the credits. I said 'Of course!', and began work. I actually created an additional 3 drones, as well as a sort of mix of a few of the ones I had already created. These will see the light in another op-trk release soon . .
The godfathers liked one of them, and it will be heard at the credits of the discs. Upon release, I'll announce it here, and it will also coincide with the op-trk release, unless I decide to release it sooner.
I had an amazing time working on it, and would like to thank Carrie and everyone else involved for the opportunity, I can't wait to see the final!!

Modwheelmood - July 4th @ the elysium in Austin, TX

The Show was phenomenal. Setlist Below . .

After the amazing band, The Dry Season, Modwheelmood came out. Pelle starts to play just the guitar part for Bellevue Ave., and uses his various electronics to switch it around to the reversed intro to Bellevue, called Forli'.

Alessandro stuck to bass for the whole show, while the drummer, Jesper, sampled bits of synthesizer drums on his Roland Sampler, like the beginning to Scared of Everyone and Things Will Change . .

The guys came out and took pictures, signed stuff . .

It was great. Both Pelle and Allesandro were blown away by the fact that I drove from Dallas to see the show, and thanked me for support numerous times. . . It was well worth it. Its rare these days to get artists who appreciate fans who travel to see their shows, so its humbling to know that there are nice rock stars out there. They were both incredibly nice people, and I can't wait to see another show!!

As heard in the preview above, a brand new album from yours truly, entitled aptly, HOW ARE YOU HUMAN?, will be available this July.
It will be for sale on your regular digital retailers, like iTunes and Amazon Mp3 store, as well as other physical forms like limited runs of CD and Vinyl versions . .

I have taken the SERVILE stream from the top of the page here, so if you still want to stream it, it will still be available from my imeem profile for listen. . . As far as downloading it from here, it may still be there and it may not be. I haven't really checked to see how the downloads have been going, but if its been taken off that means that it hasn't seen any recent activity, and would be taken off eventually.
Good news though, accompanying the release of HAYH?, there will be a new website for the music as well as other music related features. When the new site is up in July, all of the free songs, including the op trk stuff and Servile, will be available from there.

I am not focusing on the past anymore, and as heard in the preview, Servile is old news. I am moving very forward with this new material, and am taking this one over the threshold, so to speak.

As of right now, this song that I am working on is the last one that I will be recording for the new record. After next week, or the following week . . I will be officially done tracking all of the new album.

As we draw closer to the 10th year anniversary of probably the greatest album of all time, THE FRAGILE by none other than Nine Inch Nails, I will be recording covers of select songs from the album and documenting them with my iSight camera, posting them to my new You Tube channel, and posting them here.

Right after Christmas, Nine Inch Nails released a wealth of free, raw unedited concert footage for people to watch, edit into videos, DVDs and other media for FREE. If you have been living under a rock, than go to nin.com for more details on his 'Holiday Gift' for everyone.

I, along with a few other rats posting suggestions, came up with the idea of making the menu sounds for the DVD. We thought that original 'new sounds' would be better than just looping a regular NIN song for the menu, because everyone that watches the DVD will have heard those songs before. I set up a schedule, and told the powers that be at the site that I would have at least 20 drones for possible menu use in 2 weeks time. I set that deadline to have finished drones that could be looped for menu sounds.
I actually never did get a chance to do much of the sounds until 2 days prior to my 'end' of that 2 week period. So really, most of these drones were done in 2 days time. You have to realize that I was trying to create new NIN songs, that I was actually trying to sound like NIN, which is blatently heard throughout these sounds. But some of it came out sounding like anything but NIN. . . . those are my favorites . .
It was created with a spontaneity that was similar to Subservient, only with this I quite literally closed my eyes, pointed and clicked on a sound, and manipulated. There you have it -- drones.

There very short and sweet, and I decided to release them in this fashion because I really like them; one can really get lost in it, having one or all of them on endless loop. . .
I suggest you do that, in fact I challenge you to it. DOWNLOAD THIS FOR FREE, and put it on your iPod/Zune, or burn it to a cd. Take it to bed with you and listen to this just as you fall asleep . . lose yourself . . ..
If you go to my imeem page and look for these, they are there and have been there for listeners for a couple of months, since I released them to the NIN community. I just never announced it here.
It is available right here, RIGHT NOW for FREE DOWNLOAD in multiple formats. First up, we have the mp3's encoded at 320 kbps with LAME (as always). I have also included a Apple Lossless version for you. They are both fully tagged, and they both sound great . .
For those who want complete lossless, download the MASTERS file. They are a copy of the Pro Tools master .wav files in both 16-bit, 44.1 khz (CD Quality) and the 24-bit, 48 khz (better than CD Quality). I wouldn't recomend these unless you have the stereo system to appreciate this type of quality. As I said, the mp3's and m4a's sound great. . . All versions include an artwork .pdf, featuring special photography from my artwork partner, youarehere design.

Hello friends.
Since SERVILE's release at the beginning of last month, there have been a handful of people who really responded positively to the album. Those people have signed up for the Fallacy mailing list (which I strongly encourage you to do, there will be surprises for you . . ) and are now following my creations frequently. To these people, I can't express enough gratitude. Thank you for listening and finding yourself in what I am doing.
To anyone else who gave it a moments' chance, thank you as well. I urge you to give it two more seconds, you may just find yourself, or lose yourself in what I am doing.

So, on to the subject of new stuff . . . I spent an intense two-week period recently, with my hands on my keyboard controller and my eyes burning a hole in my computer monitor, creating new music for you . . .

To keep it short, I have a new op trk release for you. It is 20 very short, very quick instrumentals that I designed. Titled very aptly 'the drone series' ventures into textures and sounds I have yet to travel before now. . . .
And as always with my operating tracks releases, it is FREE for download. I will also have a version in Apple Lossless in the package, for those who have iTunes. I will release it this coming up Saturday at Midnight (central standard-Texas time).

Details surrounding this release, as well as a back story of sorts, will be put together for you this Friday night, just before Midnight. I hope you'll check it out.

And definately worthy of mention, the art work company that put this art package for the release together for me is called youarehere design (yahDesign), stationed in Mexico. It is run by a very inspiring woman who has a knack for the visual arts and photo manipulation.

As we inch closer to Christmas and New Years, you might notice a few things. That I've added an imeem and a Flickr account to my page here. Both will be updated frequently, along with my myspace and this page.
An official Fallacy website is in the works, and will be unveiled hopefully before summer of next year.
Due to time constraints, and an economy that is dwindling on the brink of all out collapse, I haven't been able to purchase the necessary equipment to take True Fallacy on the road. It sucks because I was really looking forward to trying to put together some shows in the coming months, but I haven't even had money for gas to get from my house to possible venues/shows to meet possible band members or anything. . .very disappointing . .

BUT NEVER FEAR!!
My plan was to start playing shows and promoting, and then go into recording the next album (which is, for the most part, already written) at the start of the summer/fall. Now I'm just switching that around. I've already started recording material for the next album, and this one, (not trying to sound arrogant or anything . .) is going to knock everyone on their ass. I was learning a lot for the first record, I know a lot now . and this should go a lot smoother this time, a lot faster . .

I plan on hashing out a couple of songs that don't belong with anything I am working on, so that will end up being my 'op trk vol.II' release. . . . many things brewing in my studio cauldron . .

By the time I have some sort of live act to play shows, I will be done with two albums and a couple of op trk releases, so there will be plenty of material to deliver a different show nightly.

Be checking for the album in just a couple of short weeks. . .

I am officially completely done Mixing and Mastering SERVILE. I just bounced the final Masters last night. As mentioned in a previous post, SERVILE as a whole is really two parts, one part guitar rock album (called SERVILE) and one part noisy, free form, electronic meatpile (called Subservient). Both tracklistings are as follows.

Both albums are two very different sides to the same exact beast, and both are completely finished. I have the Masters ready as I type this. I have already begun work realizing the visual concept that will accompany the album. I'm taking the reigns of the entire spectrum of work on this one. I am incorporating ideas for the visual presentation that, when fully realized, will accompany the albums in the only way I can imagine. This work is a product of a years worth of blood, sweat and above all, patience and diligence. It's finally paying off, I feel fucking great right now, and I can't be more happy with how all this turned out. You will all see what I mean soon . . .

Mixing is Finished, and. . .

I just bounced final mixes for everything last weekend, and finished mastering half of the material last night. I can't wait to share this with you . . . I am going to work on the rest this weekend, which means that SERVILE will be completely finished this weekend. All that needs done now is the concept artwork to accompany the music, and some promotion leading up to it's release . . .

I was able to find a Mastering Engineer after all . . he stands about 2 foot off the ground and weighs about 20 pds. . . .

He said even with the mixes bounced at -12 db, I still didn't leave enough headroom . . Go figure, you can never argue with the Mastering Engineer. Oh Well . . .

SERVILE is officially finished recording, and it feels fucking great. This record has very much been a learning experience, and I have learned a lot. Mixing has been good, I have decided to go it completely alone, which at first, was a scary thought. But I feel that I am being true to my integrity, and I know enough now to mix it myself. It's sounding really good, and I'm almost to the point where I can say I'm satisfied with it. I am taking my time, exercising patience and dilignece, because I want this to be special. I wanted to make something real, not disposable, and I feel like I am writing music to reflect that.

SERVILE is going to contain 11 songs. These songs are stemmed from ideas from years ago, along with ideas from this year. It is mostly a guitar based record, because I started out on guitar, and find a comfort zone very quickly with guitar as an instrument. Most melodies, and the overall mood, is very uneasy and unsettling, while still being a cohesive piece from start to finish. A story of the ideas will eventually be told, but for now it doesn't matter . . .

SUBSERVIENT is a batch of bonus material, loosely inspired by Meatronic, a net label in Tampa, FL. The music on there is very noisy, free-form, spontaneously created music. I listened to nothing but that for a few weeks, and within that time period, got into creating stuff with a program called Audiomulch. I wanted to create something electronic and very noisy, very spontaneous, much in that same way, so those were the rules I set for myself. No overthinking, no spending too much time on it. As a result, within 5 short weeks, I have 7 additional songs that pickup where SERVILE finishes and carry on a very electronic note. I have been slaving (no pun intended) on SERVILE for a year, and i have the final mixes to SUBSERVIENT already done. Where SERVILE is a guitar record, vearing more towards Rock with a hint of electronics in the background, SUBSERVIENT is a spontaneously combusted collection of brash electronics and noisy melodies that follow the same uneasy mood of SERVILE, only with synths and filtered drums in the foreground.

As a starting point, I am going to give all this away to anyone who wants to download for the small price of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. 100% FREE. I will then start playing shows around my home town to promote. I will give it away to college students, bar tenders, homeless people, . .anyone I can. I will officially release it in installments through my Soundcloud site, so stay tuned to here, there, or my myspace profile. I will make a formal anouncement at those places when I upload them, and you will be able to download some of them for free. They will be in the form of high quality, 320 kbps. mp3 files, fully tagged and encoded with LAME.
I will also upload the ENTIRE ALBUM (not installments) in the same 320 kbps. files to a sendspace page, and the higher quality, 24-bit, 48 khz. wav files to a seperate sendspace page, for anyone who wants uncompressed, lossless quality. I've also thought about releasing it as a torrent file . . .

I have begun realising the visual concept art for the album. A PDF book will also accompany the album, probably from a sendspace as well. It's all coming together, I will have it for you soon . . .
